Journalism is such a dynamic and diverse field that no two academic institutions offer the same curriculum. We welcome your interest in our program, which gives students the opportunity to develop professional skills while exploring mass communication research and theory. Our top-ranked curriculum offers the master of arts and doctoral degrees and features an eclectic blend of faculty, courses and facilities extending from the department itself to the College of Communication and the whole university.

We are committed to equal opportunity and aim to:

• Increase opportunities for employment and for participation in programs by faculty, staff and students without regard to race, religion, national origin, sex, age, physical disability, sexual orientation or veteran status.

• Continue development of a curriculum representing the diversity of the publics we serve and the multicultural environment of our state, nation and world.

• Assure an environment in which the students, staff and faculty of the department are free to teach, learn and grow.
