The 47th Hearst Journalism Awards Program offers up to $500,000 in awards, consisting of six monthly competitions: writing, three photojournalism, and four broadcast news - with championship finals in all divisions.
Each month, beginning in October, UT School of Journalism will submit two entries in the selected competition category.

Participation is open to undergraduate journalism majors. The submission must have been published or aired while the student was an undergraduate journalism major. On-campus media and work during internships are eligible. Double bylines and/or group entries are not allowed.

Editorials or signed opinion columns, published between 11/15/06 and 11/25/07. Entry due: 11/25/07
In-depth writing, published between 12/15/06 and 12/25/07. Entry due: 1/4/08
Photojournalism: news and sports, published between Sept. 1, 2007 and Jan. 20, 2008. Entry due: 01/18/08
Sports writing, published between 1/15/07 and 1/25/08. Entry due: 1/25/08
Broadcast: news, produced and aired between Sept. 1, 2006 and Feb. 1, 2007. Entry due: 01/25/08
Personality/profile writing, published between 2/15/07 and 2/15/08.
