Ilani Blanke

Ilani Blanke just completed her first-year as an English teacher at Creekside High School in Fairburn, Ga. She decided to take on the position of journalism adviser this year and worked with 10 students to create the school's paper, The Blaze. In her high school and college years, she served as the editor for literary magazines and was a film reviewer for an arts newspaper in Edinburgh, Scotland. Blanke completed her bachelor’s degree in English at the College of Charleston and just earned her master’s degree in teaching at Mercer University. In her free time, Blanke enjoys independent and foreign film, creative writing, and traveling.
