Evan De Gannaro

Evan de Gennaro teaches English at Mount Diablo High School in Concord, Calif. This is his fourth year teaching at his alma mater. Mount Diablo has not had a school paper for at least five years and de Gennaro plans to revive it. He earned his bachelor’s degree in sociology at Seattle University, and a master’s degree in teaching English as a second language. He worked for three years in college radio, and one year at a commercial radio station in San Francisco and years at Hip-Hop performances in Japan, Seattle and the San Francisco Bay area where he lives. De Gennaro has a passion for social justice, is active in his local teacher's union and can always be found participating at local community events. He also loves freestyle rapping.
