Virginia Gilstrap

Virginia Gilstrap teaches journalism and communication graphics at her alma mater Memorial High School in Victoria, Texas and advises the student newscast, the Viper News Network. Before entering teaching, she worked as a news video editor and camera person at a Victoria TV station. She was also a technical writer at the Johnson Space Center before she worked as a copy editor and designer at the Victoria (Texas) Advocate. In 2001, Gilstrap became a teacher through the alternative certification program. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English/secondary education at Illinois College. Gilstrap reads lots of science fiction and fantasy books and zumbas whenever she can.
