Renae Hellman

Renae Hellman teaches journalism at Elgin (Texas) High School and remedial writing courses at the University of Phoenix online. She has over five years of teaching and 20 years of corporate marketing and public relations experience. She has started a few newspaper publications in previous school districts, and hopes to begin one at Elgin High School called The Wildcats’ Story. Her educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in journalism at the University of Texas at Austin, a master’s degree in education with a specialization in curriculum and technology from the University of Phoenix, and secondary teaching certifications in journalism and ESL. In her spare time, Hellman enjoys watching UT football and basketball games, socializing with friends, and volunteering with organizations that help feed the homeless.
