Shawna Castellano has worked in broadcast news in Austin for a decade. She joined the University of Texas adjunct faculty in 2003 and is currently the afternoon drive anchor at News Radio 590 KLBJ, where she has worked for five years. Her work has been featured on ABC Radio Networks, Fox News Radio, the BBC and Associated Press Radio. She has also covered numerous legislative sessions and elections for Texas State Networks.

In addition to her career in Austin radio, she has worked as a television news producer at KVUE, KTBC, and was part of the team of producers who launched News 8 Austin in 1999.

Shawna is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Journalism, with a concentration in broadcast journalism.

She is also a long-time volunteer with Family Eldercare of Central Texas and was nominated as the 2006 United Way Capital Area volunteer of the year.
