New York Times senior financial writer to deliver the keynote address at the Massey Prize Symposium
Diana Henriques, New York Times senior financial writer, will deliver the keynote address on “Mixed Signals: Madoff, the Meltdown, and the Media” at the Massey Prize Symposium at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 11th.
Henriques is the author of The Wizard of Lies: Bernie Madoff and the Death of Trust. One reviewer stated of this book: “She probably knows more than anyone outside the FBI and the Securities and Exchange Commission about the mechanics of the fraud.” In her talk, she will address some common misperceptions about links among the media's performance (pre-and post-meltdown), the meltdown itself, and the regulatory failures exposed by the Madoff crimes. The keynote will be in the Francis Auditorium (TNH 2.114) at the School of Law. The Massey Prize Symposium is honoring Robert Litan, inaugural recipient of the first Massey Prize for Research in Law, Innovation, and Capital Markets. The symposium is free and open to the public.
