Emily Goldstein

Emily Goldstein is a doctoral student in the School of Journalism at the University of Texas at Austin’s Moody College of Communications. Her research focuses on media coverage of mental health, and she is a doctoral fellow at the university’s Center for Health Communication. Goldstein has more than a decade of professional experience in various editorial roles at The Dallas Morning News and most recently as the editorial operations manager at the city’s alternative weekly, the Dallas Observer. She received her Bachelor of Journalism degree in 2007 from the University of Missouri, where she focused on media convergence, and her Master of Journalism degree in 2017 from the University of North Texas, where she worked as a teaching assistant for news writing and editing classes.
