Martin Johannes Riedl (M.A. Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media, M.A. Humboldt University of Berlin) is a doctoral student in the School of Journalism at the University of Texas at Austin, and an associate researcher at the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society in Berlin, Germany. His research interests include content moderation, media sociology, internet governance, and social media. Martin's work has been published or accepted in Digital Journalism, the International Communication Gazette, and Social Media + Society. He is a regular contributor to the International Communication Association's annual meetings. Martin's professional experience includes marketing work with German media companies and advertising, project management and editorial work with an Austrian magazine publisher, as well as internships with Austrian news outlets.
