Next Generation Radio provides digital journalism opportunities

In August, Austin's public radio station, KUT, hosted Next Generation Radio, a weeklong digital-journalism training project. University of Texas students studying radio and journalism reported and produced their own multimedia stories.

"NextGenRadio was one of the most challenging weeks I've had, but it only further solidified my desire for radio journalism," said Dani Matias, student participant.

Morgan O'Hanlon agreed, saying, "The workshop was awesome. I loved my mentor and definitely learned a lot about the elements of a good audio story, and navigating the beast that is [Adobe] Audition."
