Alex Hernandez is a Journalism PhD student from Mexico City. He holds a M.A. of Global Policy Studies from the LBJ School of Public Affairs, where he specialized in policy communication and youth engagement and where he received the LIFT Fellowship from the McCombs School of Business. He has a B.A. in International Relations from Universidad Anahuac Mexico and has worked at the Mexican Council on Foreign Relations, in the public sector at Travis County and the City of Austin, and in the private sector as a development consultant; always witha focus on engaging with younger generations.

He was part of the 100 Leaders of Tomorrow at the Swiss St. Gallen Symposium 2022, where he presented his research on intergenerational gaps within policy and media. He has presented at other conferences like the Global Fusion 2023 media conference on the same topics.

His research interests focus in the reaction of journalism in the face of younger generations consuming news in different media environment and how the industry can adept to the short-video era.
