Hana is a doctoral student in Journalism and Media at UT Austin. She earned her Master's degree in Journalism Studies from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Her research interest focuses on encouraging greater news consumption and rebuilding trust in the news media using both quantitative and qualitative methods.
Specifically, she explores the factors that discourage audiences from engaging with news, how news media shape political polarization, and how that polarization, in turn, affects news consumption. Her extended research interests include developing a news credibility scale through factor analysis to evaluate AI-assisted news, building on existing scholarship that created a scale exclusively for AI-assisted news.
