Jiawen Yang

Jiawen Yang is a PhD student in the School of Journalism and Media. She received her B.A. and first M.A. in Chinese, with a focus on educational and media purposes, and then worked as a reporter in Hong Kong for two years. Her research interests include journalism studies, media effects, and media ephemerality. In particular, she is interested in exploring how media ephemerality shapes online users’ attention to, processing of, and evaluation of economic and political information on social media and emerging communication technologies, as well as how these practices influence their beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors.
