Ke Wu is a doctoral student in Journalism and Media at the University of Texas at Austin. Her research explores how digital media, immersive technologies, and online communities shape identity and social interactions in virtual environments. She is particularly interested in how avatars, digital storytelling, and emerging platforms shape users’ perceptions, emotions, and social attitudes across cultural contexts. Her broader research interests also examine popular culture, gender representation, and media practices in digital spaces.

Before joining UT-Austin, Ke earned a B.S. in Communication from Cornell University in 2023, concentrating on technologies and media psychology. She later completed an M.A. in Digital Studies at the University of Chicago, where she conducted projects on virtual reality and mobile games.

Beyond academia, Ke has professional experience in nonprofits and cross-cultural communication. She remains committed to advancing inclusive and human-centered approaches to technology and media. In her free time, she enjoys swimming, tennis, singing, and crafting.
