Lucas Armbruster

Lucas Armbruster is a first-year Journalism & Media Pro Track graduate student from Karlsruhe, Germany. In 2025, he graduated from Ruprecht Karl University of Heidelberg with a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies, focusing on History and Human Geography.

 

His interest in qualitative research and visual storytelling took shape during Lucas’s undergraduate fieldwork in West Virginia. His thesis research served as the foundation for his short ethnographic documentary, Those Who Stayed – The People of McDowell County.

 

Lucas is looking forward to engaging with the journalistic community in Austin and is excited to be a Longhorn!
