Luke Lawhorn is a master’s student in the School of Journalism and Media from Killeen, Texas. After graduating UTSA with a degree in English in spring 2024, he decided to continue his education at the University of Texas to become the best possible candidate for future employment.
Luke wrote for UTSA’s student-ran newspaper, The Paisano, for five semesters including being the sports editor for four. He still holds his position as a sports correspondent writer for the San Antonio Express-News, an opportunity he’s held for over two years. In his first semester at UT, Luke was hired on at The Daily Texan as a sports writer and is assigned to breaking news stories for Texas Athletics. With the work and school experience, the goal for Luke is to end up on TV on networks such as ESPN or FS1.
