Meredith Gardner is a master's student on the research and theory track at the School of Journalism and Media. She graduated with her bachelor's degree in news-editorial journalism from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. After graduation, she worked for a small daily newspaper in rural Nebraska and then as a freelance journalist. She currently works as the Media Literacy Director for Mormon Women for Ethical Government, a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization focused on peacebuilding and empowering women. Her research interests include journalism and polarization, misinformation, consumer trust, and democratic engagement. In her free time, Meredith enjoys reading, listening to music, and spending time with her family.
