Saile Aranda is pursuing her masters in Journalism and Media at the University of Texas at Austin. She earned her B.A. in Communications with a minor in Business Administration from Texas A&M University-San Antonio.
During her time at A&M-San Antonio, Saile formed part of the student-led newspaper, The Mesquite, as assistant editor. She also volunteered her photograhy skills for the student magazine El Espejo, Jaguar College Radio and the broadcast organization, Enlance, where she practiced videography. After completing a photography internship at Texas Public Radio, Saile is now a freelance journalist.
As a first-generation Hispanic woman, Saile is excited for her experience at UT Austin and she hopes to continue growing her network alongside her knowledge on journalism and to master the ability of written and visual storytelling to connect deeply with her community.
