Xiao Feng is an M.A. Student in the Research and Theory track at the School of Journalism and Media at The University of Texas at Austin. Her research interests lie at the intersection of human-AI interaction, political communication, and media psychology. She is particularly interested in how the communicative features and interactional dynamics of conversational AI shape users’ attitudes and trust, and how persuasion, resistance, agency, and cooperation unfold in human-AI conversations, especially in civic and political contexts.
Before joining UT Austin, Xiao earned her bachelor’s degree in English and her first master’s degree in Media Arts and Cultures in China. She subsequently worked for nearly six years in government-affiliated organizations in China.
